Published on 7/24/26 Updated on 9/15/26 Verified addresses on 8/30/26 13 adresses

Luxury consignment stores, vintage thrift shops, Saint-Michel flea market: thirteen great pre-owned addresses in Bordeaux, by a local boutique that is one of them. We sell shoes from major fashion houses, restored in our workshop — and we frequent the addresses in this guide as neighbors. Addresses verified in August 2026.

The doyen of Bordeaux pre-owned luxury: over twenty years of consignment in the antique dealers' street. Chanel, Dior, Hermès, Vuitton—mostly bags, but also clothing, jewelry, and accessories, all authenticated (a certificate or appraisal can be requested upon consignment).

The house runs like clockwork: seasonal consignments, a three-month contract, and unsold items not reclaimed are donated to charities. You can also reserve an item for twenty-four hours to try it on in-store.

Total transparency: that's us. The only house in town dedicated exclusively to pre-owned luxury shoes — pumps, sandals, loafers from the greatest houses. Each pair is authenticated, then goes through our workshop: complete cleaning, resoling if needed, reshaping. It is only put up for sale online once refurbished — and it is this restoration craft that inspired us to write this guide.

The temple of premium

The new generation consignment store: 150 sq m of glass, a designer boutique scenography, and a wardrobe ranging from carefully selected Sandro, Maje, and American Vintage to Jacquemus, Chanel, and Isabel Marant. Le Bonbon crowned it "Bordeaux's most beautiful temple of premium pre-owned fashion."

Behind the brand are two sisters, Anne-Sophie and Coralie Filippi, who launched the concept in Paris in 2015 before opening in Bordeaux in June 2024. Consignment is by walk-in: sorting takes about an hour, and selected items remain on sale for two months.

Isabelle Sacre's consignment store: clothing, bags, shoes, jewelry, and small decorative items, "from H&M to Hermès" - the mix is embraced, and the selection is assured. The atmosphere feels more like a boudoir than a shop, and the hostess more like a personal shopper than a saleswoman.

The boutique is labeled "eco-challenges" by the Chamber of Trades and Crafts: here, pre-owned is a conviction, not a trend.

The Creative Consignment Store on Rue du Loup

A neighborhood consignment store in one of the prettiest streets of old Bordeaux: well-curated women's ready-to-wear — we've seen Sandro, See by Chloé, Kookaï pass through — with a charming particularity: the manager creates and sells her own jewelry there, alongside other designers. You drop off items there just as you would hunt for treasures, like a neighbor.

The thrift store-tea room

59 rue du Loup, 33000 Bordeaux — Bordeaux Centre

Itinerary Website Instagram

Neither quite a thrift store nor quite a café: a cabinet of curiosities behind a blue façade with English charm. Mathilde Milande started with an online wardrobe clear-out in 2013, opened a boutique in 2015, then set up her racks on Rue du Loup in 2018. Here you'll find vintage women's and men's clothing — silk shirts, leather jackets, 70s dresses —, a corner for local designers, and, hidden in the back, a tea room with homemade pastries.

The establishment claims to be the only place in France to bring together a boutique, a collective manufacturing workshop, and a tea room under the same roof. Just a few doors from Chamade: you can visit both in one go.

The streetwear and Y2K reference in the Saint-Pierre district: Nike, Carhartt, Ralph Lauren, Schott, Levi's — American sportswear from the 80s-90s, sorted piece by piece. The selection is renowned far beyond the neighborhood: 4.8/5 on Google, 20,000 Instagram followers, and a Vinted dressing room for remote treasure hunting.

Tilt is a pioneer: founded in 2008 by a couple of vintage hunters, the brand was one of the first French online boutiques dedicated to vintage, before expanding to Lille, Paris, Lyon — and Bordeaux in 2018. Five departments (women, men, accessories, denim, sportswear), from Levi's 501s to mohair sweaters, and new arrivals every week, usually on Thursdays.

"NRV" for Nouvelles Ressources Vintage (New Vintage Resources): 28 sq m, a glittery purple storefront, and a pop selection from the 80s to the 2000s — mom jeans, "Britney tops," flare pants — unearthed by two friends who scour France and Europe for treasures. Opened in late 2020, the boutique has become a lively neighborhood spot: DJ sets, happy hours, and local designers on consignment.

The historic thrift store

62 rue du Mirail, 33800 Bordeaux — Saint-Michel

Itinerary

Bordeaux's historic thrift store: located on Rue du Mirail since 1990, over thirty years reigning over underground vintage. It's an Aladdin's cave of its kind — 1920s dresses, antique suits, hats, leather goods, and jewelry. Please note, we do not accept consignments here: it's a strict thrift store, not a consignment shop. Open from Thursday to Saturday, and cash only: we go on Saturdays, the day before the nearby flea market.

The Relais Gironde shops, an integration company and member of Emmaüs: textile donations collected throughout the Gironde are sorted there — 18 tons per day, by 120 employees including 70 in integration — then resold at tiny prices. Permanent arrivals, all styles and all sizes, and every purchase finances jobs. Literally, useful bargain hunting.

Places Meynard et Canteloup, 33800 Bordeaux — Saint-Michel

Itinerary Website Instagram

Every Sunday from 7 AM to 2 PM, at the foot of the Saint-Michel spire—just returned to the city after five years of restoration—the Meynard and Canteloup squares host a hundred exhibitors: antiques, old books, vinyl records, vintage clothing by the kilo, and curiosities. It's been the meeting place for Bordeaux's bargain hunters forever, and the best school there is to learn how to look at an object—or a pair of shoes—before buying it.

Tip from regulars: arrive early, the best pieces are gone before 9 AM. During the week (Tuesday and Thursday mornings), a quieter version is currently held on Quai des Salinières, while the spire's scaffolding is being dismantled.

Bordeaux, a great pre-owned city

If this list is long, it's no coincidence. Bordeaux is a city where pre-owned items have always existed, long before the word became a marketing argument. The bourgeois wardrobes of Chartrons and Caudéran are renewed, students from La Victoire hunt for bargains, and the Saint-Michel district has kept flea markets alive for generations. A rare source of beautiful pieces for a city of this size — and a vibrant scene of boutiques to circulate them.

Vintage pieces, antique furniture, and vinyl records have their own selection: our Bordeaux vintage guide brings together shops, flea markets, and record stores not included in this list.

Transparency: This guide is written by My Pretty French Shoes, a Bordeaux-based luxury pre-owned shoe boutique. Some of the addresses mentioned are, strictly speaking, competitors; we still recommend them because a lively pre-owned scene benefits everyone. Has an address closed, or is a gem missing from the list? Write to us, this guide is meant to evolve.

And to make your finds last

Each pair sold at My Pretty French Shoes goes through our own workshop before being put up for sale — and we also offer a repair service for your own shoes. This is our fundamental belief: a quality shoe is almost never finished — it's just waiting for a resole. We have also concretely explained what "refurbishing" means in another article on this blog.

Buy pre-owned luxury: our professional tips

A few tips, valid in Bordeaux as elsewhere, for buying a pre-owned pair without making a mistake.

Look at the sole and heel before anything else: sole wear, even if significant, can be repaired very well; a cleanly broken heel or a collapsed arch often condemns the pair. The upper leather is the second arbiter – scratches can be retouched, but deeply cracked leather cannot be restored.

Be wary of sizes: each house sizes differently, and a 37 in one is a 37.5 in another. Try them on in-store when possible; online, compare the inner length in centimeters when provided.

Finally, authenticity: in luxury, an abnormally low price is a signal, not a bargain. Buy from stores that inspect their items and show you defects in photos rather than hiding them.

And if you're looking for a particular pair, our stock of pre-owned luxury shoes changes every week – online, or in our Bordeaux store, where trying them on is worth all the size guides.
